Prof. Dr. Hayder Abed Dhahad

Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, for Scientific Affairs, Iraq

Prof. Dr. Hayder Abed Dhahad earned his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Technology, Iraq, in 2014, following his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the same institution in 1994 and 1998, respectively. He previously served as the Vice President for Scientific Affairs and Higher Education Studies at the University of Technology, Iraq, and is now the Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, focusing on Scientific Affairs.

With nearly 250 papers published in peer-reviewed journals and extensive experience in both conference participation and supervision of numerous MSc and PhD students, Prof. Dhahad has made significant contributions to his field. His research interests span Renewable Energy, Biofuels, IC Engines, Combustion, Solar Energy, and Fuel Cells.


Current Developments in Electric Power Systems: Challenges and a Sustainable Future

Prof. Erdal IRMAK

Gazi University,Türkiye

Prof. Erdal Irmak, Senior Member of IEEE, earned his BSc degree in Electrical Education from the Faculty of Technical Education at Gazi University, Türkiye, in 1997. Subsequently, he pursued his MSc and PhD degrees in the same field at the Gazi University Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences, in 2001 and 2007, respectively. His expertise covers power system operation and control, voltage and frequency stability, the integration of renewables into power systems, the design of virtual and remote labs, and the cybersecurity of critical infrastructure.

He has authored or co-authored over 130 research papers, most of which are indexed in WoS. Dr. Irmak has led and contributed to various projects, spanning from solar cell technology to microgrid development and real-time pricing optimization in smart grids. He has played key roles in IEEE-supported conferences including GPECOM, ICRERA, and ICSMARTGRID. He serves as the Editor of EPCS and as Associate Editor in prestigious journals such as IJRER and GUJSc. Currently, he is full-time Professor in Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department of Gazi University.


Empowering the Next Generation: Integrating Climate Literacy and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into Education Systems

Dr. Charu Khosla

Director (Academics & Research), International Affairs, Chitkara University, India

Dr. Charu Khosla earned her doctorate in Environmental Technology & Management from Punjabi University, Patiala, India, with a specialization in Water and Wastewater Treatment using Bioresins. Her extensive research has led to numerous publications in esteemed national and international journals, and she has presented approximately 38 papers at various conferences worldwide. Additionally, she holds 12 patents, has contributed to 3 book chapters, and delivered 23 invited and expert talks.

Currently serving as the Director of Academics & Research for International Affairs at Chitkara University, Dr. Khosla has received notable accolades, including the International Award for Partnership and Collaboration – 2023 from Federation University Australia for her outstanding contributions to Maintenance, Reliability, and Asset Management. She was also honored with the “Greenpreneur Award – 2021” by Startup Punjab and the Department of Industries and Commerce, in collaboration with FICCI FLO, recognizing her exemplary work in Energy Management.
